Flight management and navigation systems
Flight management computers, inertial navigation units, GPS/GNSS systems, and navigation receivers.
CellQual coordinates the sourcing of avionics equipment, airborne radar systems, and aircraft communication radio components through specialist aviation and defense supply partners. We coordinate new equipment supply through authorized distribution channels, serviceable unit exchanges, and repair coordination — all with the documentation and traceability required for civil and military airworthiness compliance.
Avionics, radar, and airborne radio systems are among the most technology-intensive and rapidly evolving components on modern aircraft. They are also among the most tightly regulated, with mandatory certification requirements, software part numbers, and database update obligations that add complexity to the maintenance supply chain.
CellQual coordinates avionics and airborne radar sourcing through specialist partners covering both civil and military applications. Our coordination covers new equipment supply from authorized distribution channels, serviceable unit exchanges, and repair coordination where the part requires specialist overhaul before return to service.
Civil avionics supply must be traceable to an approved production organization and supplied with an appropriate airworthiness release document. Military avionics and radar systems are frequently subject to export control. CellQual manages both sets of requirements as a fundamental part of the sourcing process.

Not necessarily. Avionics equipment is approved for specific aircraft types through the type certification process, and substitution requires approval from the relevant airworthiness authority. Some equipment, particularly radios and transponders, may be approved on multiple aircraft types with appropriate installation data approval. CellQual will verify applicability as part of the sourcing process.
An exchange unit (or serviceable exchange) is a pre-repaired avionics unit offered as an immediate replacement while the customer's unit undergoes repair. This is common for avionics where repair is practical and economic, as it reduces aircraft downtime compared to waiting for the customer's own unit to be repaired. CellQual can coordinate exchange unit supply where this option is available and appropriate.
TSO (Technical Standard Order) certification indicates that an avionics item has been tested and found to meet minimum performance standards defined by the aviation authority (FAA, EASA, etc.). TSO certification is required for many categories of avionics installed on type-certificated aircraft. Non-TSO items may be appropriate for experimental aircraft or supplemental uses but are generally not acceptable as primary aircraft system components. CellQual verifies certification status as part of the sourcing process.
When an avionics unit becomes unserviceable, the operator removes it and typically has three options: send it to an approved avionics repair station for repair; exchange it for a pre-repaired serviceable unit (exchange unit or rotable), receiving a ready-to-install replacement while their unit is repaired; or source a new unit. Exchange units reduce aircraft downtime compared to waiting for repair. CellQual coordinates exchange unit supply where available through specialist avionics partners.
Yes. Modern avionics units may have hardware part numbers and software part numbers that must both match the aircraft's maintenance documentation requirements. A hardware unit with an incompatible software version may not satisfy the installation requirement even if the hardware part number is correct. CellQual advises customers to verify software version requirements as part of the sourcing specification.
